What is "The Association for Electric Home Appliances"

Electronics are an integral part of our lives.
Remarkable technological innovations such as the television, video, audio, refrigerator, microwave, washing machines, air conditioning, lighting, and more provide us with various forms of entertainment as well as convenience.

AEHA works to improve the safety of a wide variety of these ever-evolving household appliances so integral to our everyday lives as well as enhance after-sale service and product liability, and furthermore plans and implements research and policies. It is based on a comprehensive understanding of problems common to household appliances, including those directly involved in environmental issues such as dealing with used appliances as well as energy and resource conservation.

Safe and comfortable living, environmentally friendly system building. These are the goals that AEHA strives to achieve.

A Brief History of our Association

  • We were established in 1973 as the overall manufacturers' association for home electric appliances.
  • We were designated as the special proxy organization to conduct the recycle of electric home appliances instead of small manufacturers and importers by the law in 2000.
  • We started ADR (Alternative Dispute Resolution) in 2007.
― We are now composed of 29 manufacturers and 11 associations of home appliances.
